Master these two and do ANYTHING.

Over my fairly short (just shy of 35) stay on this planet I was fortunate enough to experience quite a bit.

Toronto — one of the cities I grew up in.

Out of school, I submerged myself in the world of business quickly.

This allowed me to learn by doing, not by reading.

I’ve experienced many highs and many lows.

I’ve tried pretty much everything: working for people, working with people, founding, co-founding — you name it, chances are I’ve done it.

This also allowed me to sustain my living virtually anywhere in the world in my early twenties, so I got a chance to travel and live abroad, experiencing and exploring places I love and eventually want to settle in.

Vancouver, Canada — my top favorite. Views from my apt.

By some standards, I also decided to ‘settle’ and start a family quite early. By the time I was 27, my first son was born, shortly followed by two more kids, all spaced out two years apart.

…Things really are put into perspective when you have a wife and three children to raise.

Business took second stage for me, and business thinking eventually was pushed out by all sorts of other thinking, but never forgotten.

My wife, and I decided to call San Francisco Bay our home for now. After moving around a couple of times in San Francisco we found that mid-peninsula is where we’d want to raise our kids.

Once in the Bay area, I got to work for some of the biggest A-list companies in the world with positions some only dream of having — just to reassure myself that the corporate world wasn’t my cup of tea.

But throughout this event-packed journey, I began to notice a major trend, which I eventually broke down to two things: confidence and communication.

Two of the biggest, most important words in business, and, as I’m finding out, in life.

In order to get anything in your life you must be able to communicate — a skill which can take a lifetime to master.

In order to communicate with mastery, you need confidence.

One cannot exist without another.

With this post I’d like to announce a series of short articles which I’ll be writing over the next year. These serve as a foundation to ideas I’m documenting in my upcoming book: Think Simply. A life’s manual, so to speak.

If you liked what you’ve read so far, you’ll LOVE what’s to come — be sure to follow me!
